Smooth Waves
Smooth waves inject subtle glamour as we approach the new season.
The looks are large soft waves, encouraged to move with a natural lift through the root.

Balmain
The movement starts from the lip area and flows into the length of the hair.
Your hair will need some priming to ensure you have a smooth surface. I recommend a primer that protects against humidity to maintain the smoothness.
Product: Aveda Smooth Infusion or Aveda be curly Style-Prep I have used both, they are both the best primers I have tried. Apply to mid-lengths and ends, when your hair is damp.
To achieve and maintain the natural lift through the roots use a volume foam or styling foam. A foam is a lighter version of a mouse, as the volume needed for this look is natural. Apply to your hair when damp.
Backstage Secret: Apply the product to hair that is damp to 80% dry, this will ensure you get full benefits of the product.
To Complete the look of Balmain, place your parting on the side in line with the middle of your brow, so the hair slightly drapes over the corner of your eye on the opposite side.

Tosia
Soft Waves shown at Tosia are easily achievable. It is not necessary to section off the hair, curl large sections of hair with a large curling tong, starting from the mid-length area to the ends. Leave the hair to cool down before gently combing your fingers through or using a natural bristle brush to loosen up the waves.

Bottega Veneta
Controlled Smooth Waves. Wear with a middle parting, use a large curling tong, curl your hair from below the ear, alternatively if you would like more volume through the sides, start the wave, so it is in line with your ear.

Tip: To help with the styling, keep layering in your haircut to a minimum, if you would like to achieve a subtle defined wave.

Temperly London
Suitability: Consider your face shape to decide where to begin the waves. Start the waves from around the eye area for long face shapes and for round face shapes start the waves from the jaw area.

Product: For looks such as Temperly London and Miu Miu (below) you will need to use a classic mousse with a strong hold, on top of a primer.

Miu Miu
My favourite of the season, the look may not be so subtle, but this decadent glamour from Miu Miu is the look for when we want glamour.
