The Revival of Vintage Hair
It has been a while since we have seen vintage inspired looks grace the catwalk. The thing about trends, particularly hair trends, they don't necessarily become a trend right away. First, they make an appearance then we see a look/trend being interpreted more and more, over a couple of seasons. Where we then start to see it regularly, and it becomes comfortable to emabrace it, wear it or create it.
We first noticed a vinatge influence from Autumn/Winter, from designers such as Bottega Veneta, Preen by Thortnton Bregazzi and House of Holland.

Autumn/Winter is always the season we see more stylised looks and trends make an appearance. Why ? Autumn/Winter clothes are more substantial, generally more structured and more put together.
Spring/Summer 18. The most beautiful inspired hair was the Miu Miu Iconic Wardrobe campaign. If you haven't seen it, I recommend taking a look.
The taste applied to the hair married perfectly with 2018. The thick finger wave on one side through the front is fresh, and summery. Perfect for letting your hair your dry naturally in summer and be able to look stylish.

Autumn/Winter 2018 collections have shown even more of a nod to the vintage eras.
Finger waves are shown to be beautifully sculpted at Erdem, Temperly and Emilio Pucci. If there ever was a good enough reason to get your hair did in a salon, then fashion is the perfect excuse.

Vintage revival has come at the perfect time. We have the knowledge, fantastic products and the ultimate tools available to us to achieve these looks. Granted, this may take a little more time than ten mins, however for an evening look or Saturday evening when we have a little extra time to do our hair or best of all make an appointment at the salon.
